A Thoughtful Approach to Something Simple
A dear friend once asked for help with her front porch pots.
She loved flowers and the life they bring, but between work, kids, and a full schedule, it kept getting pushed aside. And when she did find the time to plant something, it never seemed to last.
So we slowed down and started with a few simple goals. Something beautiful. Something low-maintenance. Something colorful enough for her kids to enjoy, without overwhelming the style of her home.
As we looked at her space more closely, a few things became clear. Her porch didn’t receive direct sunlight, even though everything she had planted before required full sun. The bold red roses in her landscaping were already doing a lot visually, so anything new needed to complement rather than compete. And because her children would see these pots every day, we wanted them to feel a little playful, while still feeling cohesive to an adult eye.
The final result was layered, textural, and intentional. Bright colors at a child’s eye level as they stepped outside, with a more grounded, refined feel for someone arriving at the front door.
